Nyack Addition

Residential Addition, Nyack, New York

A small residential addition to a cute Craftsman House in Nyack, New York, designed to extend the home with care and restraint. The project focuses on fitting new space within the logic of the original house rather than altering it. The addition is scaled modestly and positioned to feel consistent with the existing massing, rooflines, and material character of the Craftsman structure. Internally, the new work improves functionality and daily use, strengthening connections between living spaces while preserving the intimacy and clarity of the original plan. The intervention is deliberately limited, allowing the house to retain its character while accommodating contemporary needs. Materials and detailing are selected to sit comfortably alongside the existing fabric. New elements are calibrated to feel familiar without imitation, maintaining continuity while remaining clearly of their time. The result is a measured addition that feels settled and appropriate. A small but meaningful extension that supports long-term living while respecting the scale and character of a Nyack Craftsman house.
