Kenilworth Square
Heritage Restoration, Dublin 6
A conservation-led restoration of a Victorian terrace house on Kenilworth Square, Dublin 6, a protected nineteenth-century residential square in south Dublin. The project focuses on the repair and retention of historic fabric, maintaining the original spatial hierarchy, proportions, and material character of the house. Interventions are limited and precise, introduced only where required to support contemporary residential use.
New work will be recessive in character, clearly detailed, and calibrated to sit quietly alongside the existing structure. Materials will be selected for durability, breathability, and continuity with the original construction, consistent with best practice for the restoration of protected structures in Dublin. Environmental upgrades follow a fabric-first conservation approach, improving thermal performance and comfort while respecting the architectural and regulatory constraints of a protected Victorian house.
